Denise's Story

As a child, most take little things for granted.. Like playing tag, kickball, and other things on the playground.
In Denise's case, she tried to mix her childhood passions--with the fact she has been limited in her daily capabilities, since her birth.
Denise was born with rare  disease that affects up to 26 million Americans today. CKD or Chronic Kidney Disease...(Though it is less common in children?) Which brings me to why I decided to highlight and focus on Denise's story.
Being a father myself, I can relate to the daily struggles one maintains just to get the kids to ball practice, school functions, kids parties, and yes... still try to mix in our daily errands, paying bills, going to work, appointments, etc.
In her case, she was never afforded the opportunity to be a carefree child? She has needed up to 10 hours of dialysis everyday. Her mom has helped her with this daily chore? This is not something you take lightly as a parent?
I feel and understand the struggles her parents endure everyday? She requires medication,  monthly Dr. visits, blood tests, etc., to check on her well-being.. This must be maintained to ensure she does not regress and become ill do to the constant treatments. This struggle would overwhelm most, though she seemingly takes it in stride?
While most kids her age would be at the mall, at the beach, at the movies....?
She has tried to maintain her focus on life?  She enjoys rooting for the Lakers, though as you tell, she may not be able to attend these games due to her constant procedures? Yes, she has a favorite cuisine as well....Italian Food, fits this bill. Yet, this may not always be on the menu, due to her condition? She has dreams and aspirations of being a Fashion Designer, and maybe even taking on Radio one day? Though to accomplish these dreams she will need to finish her education. This is where I came in, you see she cannot attend anymore schools due to need for a kidney?
Yes, she is hoping for one kind and generous soul could help her with this? She would need a match, and this starts with blood type...., as she is type O-Positive.
This to us would normally be a big deal? (Though we were born with two, and yes could live normal lives with just one)  In her case it would be giving the gift of life. She would be free of her constraints, and finally be able to set aside her limitations.... and yes proceed as other young adults do with their daily lives.
I can only hope and pray that someone who is compassionate enough and cares enough to help set Denise dreams free....
Here is some info on how to become a kidney donor..
This is the ambitious young Lady's personal profile...
Thank you Denise for allowing me the opportunity to share this about your life...You are a true inspiration to us all..
